Membership
The Illinois Mining Institute (IMI) welcomes any person directly engaged or interested in any branch of mining and mineral recovery, mining supplies, mining appliances, mining machinery, mining engineering, mining technology, mining education or anyone in an associated or support industry to become a member.
Our membership encompasses a diverse and broad range of individuals that include engineers, teachers, researchers, mining professionals, executives, government officials, fabricators, manufacturers, industrial sales professionals, and the construction trades.
Student members are also welcome to join the IMI. Dues will be waived for applicants who are pursuing education in mining, mining technology, mining engineering or other mining related course of study as determined by the Board. Students are asked to submit a current, unofficial transcript with their membership application.

Honorary Members
Honorary members are selected based on their outstanding service. The Institute is proud to recognize this select group of members, dating back to 1927. Honorary members of the IMI have been recognized throughout the years as contributing greatly to the mining industry of the State of Illinois. Honorary members hold lifetime membership.
